NMIT roll to grow

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology is preparing to take on students moving north from the quake-affected Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.
CPIT will be closed until at least March 14, with the state of its buildings inside the cordon still unknown.
NMIT chief executive Tony Gray said the polytechnic was preparing for the transitional transfer of students.
Details of the move would be discussed in a conference call this afternoon.
Mr Gray said NMIT was keen to help where it could, whether it was taking on students for a short or medium-term basis.
