Northland, Auckland and Coromandel: Fine spells and a few showers, becoming confined to Northland late tomorrow.

Waikato to Whanganui, including Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Taihape: Mainly fine, but scattered showers, mainly during the afternoons and evenings.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa: Partly cloudy, with a few drizzle patches tonight and tomorrow morning.

Manawatu to Wellington: Fine and cloudy spells.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Fine with high cloud at first. Scattered showers developing tomorrow.

Kaikoura Coast, Canterbury Plains and Eastern Otago: : Mostly cloudy morning and night with patchy drizzle, fine spells during the afternoons.

The remainder of the South Island: Mostly fine with high cloud. Scattered showers about the ranges this afternoon and evening with possible thunderstorms, scattered showers again tomorrow.

Chatham Islands: Low cloud with patchy drizzle at times.

Sunday: North Island, mainly fine with isolated showers in the east, mostly cloudy elsewhere, with patchy drizzle turning to rain in Taranaki, and south of there at night. South Island, periods of rain in the west, with some heavy falls, isolated afternoon showers elsewhere, some heavy with isolated thunderstorms possible in eastern Otago and Southland.

Monday: Occasional rain for most of the North Island. Rain in the west and south of the South Island, possibly heavy falls. High cloud elsewhere.

Tuesday: North Island, showers becoming isolated in the west,clearing and fine spells increasing in the Bay of Plenty and the east. South Island, periods of rain in the west, a few showers elsewhere with a southwest change.

Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy, with drizzle at times, with a period of rain on Tuesday. Northerlies strengthening on Monday, turning strong westerly for a time on Tuesday.
